Berks Latin Mass This Sunday

250 S 12th St, Reading PA

Hi everyone, this Sunday at 12:30pm we'll be having our monthly Traditional Latin Mass at St. Mary's in Reading. Below I posted a link to the propers so you can print them out, but we'll also bring some copies.

Confessions will be heard from 11:30 until about 12:15. We'll also be having a potluck after Mass. If you can bring some food, even something small, it would be greatly appreciated. If you don't normally stay after Mass for the social, I'd like to re-invite you to stop by. It's a great time to meet new and interesting people and grow in Christ.

We'll begin setting up for the social at noon. Our rosary before Mass begins at 12:10.

This month we also have a special message from Fr. Connolly:

“Gabriel Vega is the name of one of the young men who has been lending his assistance recently as an acolyte at our monthly TLMs here at St. Mary’s.

We anticipate that we will be seeing him less frequently in the months to come.

That would be sad news were it not for the very happy news that the Diocese of Allentown has announced that Gabriel has been accepted into the seminary as a candidate for the priesthood!

He will be leaving for Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg MD in the latter part of this month.

We wish him all the best, to say the least!

Over the next few years, the Holy Spirit will determine Gabriel’s future. He will do so via the decisions of the seminary faculty, the Bishop of Allentown and, most importantly, via Gabriel himself.

We shall see what God has in mind for this excellent young man.

Please include Gabriel in your prayers that he will be open to God’s Will in his regard.

God bless you, Gabe!”

In other Latin Mass news the traditional Latin "Vespers as it was in 1776" to celebrate America's 250th anniversary was a major success. It was organized by our schola director James Griffin and officiated by Fr. Robert Pasley (rector of Mater Ecclesiae Church in Berlin, NJ and president of the Church Music Association of America) at St. Augustine Church in Philadelphia, near Independence Hall.

We're excited to see you this Sunday at 12:30pm. In case you don't have it written down our address is 250 S 12th St. Reading PA.

God bless
